Pool Decks

We build the hardscape surfaces that surround a pool — decking, coping interfaces, and the drainage that keeps water moving away from the pool structure and the rest of your yard. This work is coordinated closely with your pool contractor or installer.

Rectangular pool with a stone paver deck and coping, a raised spa with a sheer water feature, and lounge seating beside a stone and brick home at sunset.

Where this fits

  • Hardscape decking around an existing pool that needs replacement or expansion
  • Coordinating deck and coping details for a new pool installation
  • Drainage and grading around a pool to protect the surrounding landscape

Planning considerations

  • Coping interface and expansion joint coordination
  • Slope and drainage away from the pool structure
  • Material selection for slip resistance and heat around a pool
  • Sequencing with the pool contractor of record

Our approach

We plan pool decks the same way we plan every project: discovery and a site visit to understand your property, a clear scope before anything is scheduled, construction with ongoing communication if anything changes, and a walkthrough once the work is finished.

Cedar Ridge Hardscapes builds the hardscape surfaces around a pool only. We do not design, engineer, install, service, or otherwise construct swimming pools, and this page does not describe pool construction services.

Materials we work with

  • Travertine and bluestone decking and coping
  • Large-format pavers and slabs from Unilock and Techo-Bloc

Pool Decks projects come up often in Midlothian, Powhatan, and across Greater Richmond more broadly — subject to project fit.
